As a Senior Accountant for our client, a best in class, fast-growing construction company, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial reporting. This is a hands-on position focused on supporting the organization’s financial operations through advanced accounting, compliance, and analysis. You will collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to process improvements as the company continues to scale rapidly.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate recording and verification of financial transactions
Prepare and analyze entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses to maintain accurate account information
Reconcile subsidiary accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in financial ledgers
Manage the general ledger, including month-end and year-end trial balances, and resolve variances
Generate financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow summaries
Coordinate and prepare documentation for annual audits, collaborating with external auditors
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations relevant to the construction industry
Train and mentor accounting staff who are beginning their careers, encouraging growth and adherence to best practices
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to assist in strategic decision-making
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to provide project-based accounting and cost analysis
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
CPA REQUIRED
At least 3 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
Advanced proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial analysis tools
Solid understanding of US GAAP, job costing, and project-based accounting
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proven experience in training and supervising accounting teams
