Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations and help maintain accurate, reliable reporting for our client's team. This role is well suited for a detail-focused accounting specialist who can manage reconciliations, contribute to close activities, and strengthen financial processes in a project-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings sound accounting knowledge, strong analytical ability, and a practical approach to improving efficiency and control.
Job Responsibility
Produce and evaluate financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules to confirm accuracy and completeness across accounting activities
Reconcile complex balance sheet and bank accounts, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding issues within established timelines
Contribute to month-end and year-end closing by preparing journal entries, reviewing ledger activity, and analyzing fluctuations in financial results
Monitor project-related costs and assist with job cost reporting to help ensure expenses are recorded correctly and profitability is clearly understood
Work closely with operational stakeholders to validate financial data tied to projects and support informed business decisions
Strengthen accounting workflows by documenting procedures, refining controls, and recommending more efficient ways to manage recurring tasks
Assist with audit preparation and compliance reporting by organizing records, responding to requests, and supporting required documentation
Partner with finance leadership on ad hoc analysis, special assignments, and reporting improvements, including opportunities for automation
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
At least 5 years of accounting experience
Strong background in month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Experience reviewing and resolving complex reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Familiarity with job cost accounting principles and project cost tracking is a plus
Ability to create, improve, and maintain accounting processes and internal controls
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting systems
Effective communication, sound judgment, and strong analytical problem-solving skills
