Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's team on a long-term contract basis in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is ideal for someone who excels in transactional and general ledger accounting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial processes.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reports
Oversee general ledger maintenance and perform necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy
Prepare and post journal entries to support financial reporting and compliance
Conduct account reconciliations to ensure all financial records align with company standards
Perform bank reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Handle accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
Manage accounts receivable activities, such as issuing invoices and tracking collections
Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting operations and improve processes

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close procedures and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation
Proficiency in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes
Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with high levels of accuracy
Solid organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
