We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will manage complex general ledger accounting and financial reporting tasks for a large, mission-driven organization. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial systems, and the ability to deliver accurate and timely financial insights.
Job Responsibility:
Perform comprehensive general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, and account reconciliations
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring precision and timely completion
Analyze financial accounts to identify variances, trends, and inconsistencies, and propose corrective actions
Prepare and review internal financial reports, schedules, and management dashboards to support strategic decision-making
Develop financial analyses using Power BI and advanced Excel techniques to transform data into actionable insights
Utilize Oracle Fusion Financials and other financial systems to ensure data accuracy and streamline processes
Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and standardized workflows
Assist in maintaining strong internal controls and preparing for audits by compiling documentation and responding to audit inquiries
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting questions and support organizational financial objectives
Act as a reliable resource for financial expertise, providing guidance to leadership and business partners
Requirements:
Proven experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Strong proficiency in month-end and year-end close processes
Advanced skills in Power BI, Excel (including VBA), and financial data analysis
Experience with Oracle Fusion Financials or similar enterprise financial systems
Ability to analyze financial trends and discrepancies with a detail-oriented approach
Familiarity with internal control practices and audit preparation processes
Effective collaboration and communication skills to work across diverse teams
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with relevant certifications preferred
