The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role partners closely with leadership and may mentor junior accounting staff.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and risks
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Support internal and external audits
Review and improve accounting processes and documentation
Mentor and review work of Staff Accountants (as applicable)
Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.)
Experience with month-end close and reconciliations
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Nice to have:
CPA or CPA-eligible
Experience in public accounting or industry (manufacturing, nonprofit, healthcare, etc.)
ERP system experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
Prior experience leading or mentoring junior staff
