Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Sugar Land, Texas. In this role, you will oversee key accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial standards and delivering accurate reporting. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to strategic financial operations while mentoring less experienced staff and driving efficiency within accounting functions.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to deliver timely and precise financial reporting
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring further investigation
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures to support organizational goals
  • Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries
  • Manage fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules and associated reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making
  • Monitor and verify intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy in consolidations
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant regulations and industry practices to maintain compliance
  • Mentor less experienced accounting staff, fostering skill development and encouraging process improvements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, including month-end close and general ledger management
  • Proficiency in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Expertise in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other accounting software
  • Familiarity with fixed asset management and depreciation schedules
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate with team members
