Robert Half is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a leading construction company in Metairie, Louisiana. This role requires expertise in financial reporting, monthly closings, budgeting, and customer billing, along with a strong ability to analyze and resolve complex financial issues. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to managing accounting processes and supporting organizational goals.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and ensure accurate reporting of business transactions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Collaborate with the accounting team to manage month-end closings and financial reporting processes
Support the annual audit by drafting financial statements and accompanying notes
Conduct thorough research and analysis of expense variances to assist company management
Develop forecasts and budgets to guide the organization’s financial planning
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
Generate and review customer billing statements, ensuring timely and accurate processing
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to optimize business performance
Utilize advanced Excel functions and accounting systems efficiently to manage financial data
Uphold compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, construction, or industrial services
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA a plus
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
In-depth knowledge of account reconciliation and general ledger operations
Experience managing month-end close processes and financial reporting
Familiarity with audit procedures and financial statement preparation
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team
