We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Algona, Iowa. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for professionals with a background in property and casualty insurance as well as agency insurance. Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly
Prepare and post journal entries with precision and attention to detail
Conduct thorough account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions
Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and improve reporting processes
Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting workflows

Requirements:

Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, specifically in property and casualty insurance and agency insurance
Strong expertise in month-end close procedures and general ledger management
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations
Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations with accuracy
Familiarity with accounting principles and regulatory compliance
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
