Our established client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Accounting Director by overseeing key accounting processes and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position is ideal for someone who excels in month-end close procedures and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory standards
Support the Accounting Director in analyzing financial data and identifying areas for improvement
Assist in preparing detailed reports for management and external stakeholders
Monitor and maintain the accuracy of general ledger accounts
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records and processes
Contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures and controls
Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and ensure their proper application

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on month-end close processes
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
