Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Bluffton, South Carolina. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting specialist with a strong background in hospitality or private club environments. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and improving internal controls.

Job Responsibility:

Perform month-end closing activities, including general ledger postings, reconciliations, and adjustments
Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards
Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank statements, and credit card transactions
Implement and enhance internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure operational efficiency
Investigate and resolve cost, overhead, and purchase price variances to maintain accurate financial data
Utilize BirchStreet Systems for financial management and reporting
Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial performance and support strategic decision-making
Maintain and update standard operating procedures to reflect current practices
Conduct audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations and membership-owned dynamics
Provide financial insights to support hospitality and private club operations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is required
Proven experience in hospitality, private club, or membership-owned environments is essential
Strong understanding of general ledger postings, reconciliations, and adjustments
Familiarity with internal controls and financial statement audits
Proficiency in account reconciliations, including AP, AR, bank statements, and credit cards
Experience with BirchStreet Systems or similar financial management platforms
Ability to analyze financial variances, including cost and purchase price discrepancies
Knowledge of hospitality management and HOA reporting standards
