The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, driving month‑end close activities, and supporting strategic decision‑making through detailed analysis. This role performs complex reconciliations, prepares financial statements, ensures compliance with GAAP, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to strengthen internal controls. Responsibilities include journal entries, variance analysis, audit support, and assisting with process improvements that streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy. The Senior Accountant often serves as a subject matter expert across the accounting team and helps mentor junior staff.
Job Responsibility:
Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP
Perform balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Support external and internal audits with required schedules and documentation
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Review work of Staff Accountants and provide guidance or training
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Manage fixed assets, accruals, prepaid schedules, and other key accounting areas
Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
3–7 years of progressive accounting experience
CPA or CPA‑track preferred
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
