We’re partnering with a well-established financial services organization in New Haven county to identify a Senior Accountant for a high-visibility role with a clear path to leadership. This is not a backfill you’ll get stuck in. The team is intentionally hiring someone they can develop into a future Controller, working closely with leadership and gaining exposure across all areas of accounting. Job Responsibility:

Handle full-cycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Partner closely with leadership on reporting, process improvements, and day-to-day accounting operations
Support audit processes and maintain strong internal controls
Analyze financial data and assist with decision-making support
Collaborate cross-functionally across departments
Take on increasing responsibility over time with a path toward leadership

Requirements:

5-10 years of accounting experience with strong GAAP foundation
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and close process
Someone motivated to grow into a Controller/leadership role
