We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Silver Spring, Maryland. In this contract position, you will play a critical role in managing and reconciling financial accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting expert with strong attention to detail who thrives in a dynamic, non-profit environment.

Job Responsibility:

Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations to verify financial data accuracy
Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure timely and precise reporting
Manage accounts payable processes, including reviewing and processing invoices
Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records
Analyze financial data and provide insight into discrepancies or trends
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
Assist in the monthly and year-end financial closing processes
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and resolving inquiries

Requirements:

Extensive experience with general ledger accounting
Proficiency in preparing and posting accurate journal entries
