Job Description

Our client, a public company, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to support key corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will be actively involved in the close process, financial statement preparation, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and assistance with SEC filings. The position will also provide oversight to members of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong public company accounting experience, be comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment, and be willing to work heavy hours during close. This is a fully in-office role. CPA in process or active license is required. Great Plains or Dynamics experience is preferred.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Post and review general ledger entries and maintain accurate account activity
  • Perform and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with the preparation and support of SEC filings, including quarterly and annual reporting requirements
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and support to members of the accounting team
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
  • Work closely with internal departments and external auditors to support reporting and audit needs
  • Help improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and documentation
  • Utilize Great Plains or Dynamics to support accounting operations and reporting

Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with public company or SEC reporting exposure preferred
  • Experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager in a fast-paced accounting environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with close, financial statement preparation, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and SEC filing support
  • Prior experience providing oversight or mentoring junior team members preferred
  • CPA in process or active CPA required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Great Plains or Dynamics experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Ability to work onsite and commit to heavy hours during close
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
