Job Description

Our technology client is seeking an interim Sr. Accountant or Accounting Manager for a 6+ month engagement. This role will provide critical operational accounting leadership during a leave coverage period, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial operations and supporting a fast-moving environment. The position is well suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can quickly learn existing processes, partner with stakeholders across the business, and ensure timely execution of core accounting activities. This role is 100% remote and is expected to pay $60-$70/hr. DOE and location.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee day-to-day general ledger activity and help deliver an accurate and timely month-end close process
  • Manage accounts payable operations, including invoice review, coding oversight, approval coordination, and payment batch support
  • Prepare and post journal entries and accruals while maintaining strong supporting documentation
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure the integrity of financial records
  • Support multi-entity accounting needs by assisting with consolidations across three entities
  • Partner with procurement and internal business teams to review purchase order approvals and maintain alignment with accounting procedures
  • Use NetSuite and Excel to analyze transactions, organize financial data, and support reporting through tools such as pivot tables, lookup formulas, and summary functions
  • Help administer accounting workflows and approval processes within automation tools used by the team
  • Work closely with accounting leadership to follow established operating practices and provide dependable coverage during the contract period

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of general ledger and month-end close activities
  • Strong background in accounts payable, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement support
  • Experience handling consolidations in a multi-entity environment
  • Proficiency with NetSuite and advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and SUMIFs
  • Ability to step into an established process quickly and operate effectively with limited ramp-up time
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and cross-functional collaboration
  • Prior experience in a technology-oriented business is helpful, particularly when supporting vendor and services transactions
