Job Description

Pendas International is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Miami. You’ll play a key role in U.S. tax filings, supporting financial needs, and providing guidance to our international clients. In addition, you will manage complex client engagements, and contribute to M&A projects, bringing leadership and technical depth.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the preparation and review of complex federal and state income tax returns (Forms 1120, 1065, 1040, etc.)
  • Oversee international tax reporting, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8938, 1116, FBAR, and other cross-border compliance requirements
  • Manage IRS and state correspondence, audits, and technical tax matters
  • Provide technical guidance and conduct high-level tax research and analysis
  • Deliver high-level financial and tax advisory to clients
  • Advise on tax planning, entity structures, cross-border considerations, and multi-state exposure
  • Support M&A projects by helping evaluate financials, tax risks, and due diligence findings
  • Provide strategic financial insights, including cash-flow considerations, operational efficiencies, and growth planning
  • Help clients implement strong financial processes and internal controls
  • Contribute to the development of financial models, forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis
  • Lead recurring client meetings, presenting financial and tax insights at an executive level
  • Guide foreign founders and executives through U.S. tax and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee new client onboarding, ensuring appropriate setup of financial, tax, and operational data
  • Improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and service quality
  • Introduce and implement modern workflows, including AI tools, to streamline operations
  • Stay current with best practices and help integrate new methods within the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting or related field (CPA required)
  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation
  • Strong international tax background
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, or other accounting software
  • Experience with tax software (CCH is a plus)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Client-centered approach and partnership mindset
  • Integrity and transparency
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines / projects
  • IT-savvy mindset, comfortable using digital and AI tools to streamline workflows, automate processes, and improve efficiency for both the firm and our clients

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a remote team environment
