Job Description

Our client in the Orange County, NY area has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant Consultant. This role requires an experienced, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting practices, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and journal entries. The position is fully on-site and will run for 2-3 months in length.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform daily cash reconciliations and generate accurate financial reports
  • Manage bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions align with accounting records
  • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger
  • Process accounts payable invoices and organize weekly payment schedules
  • Review and reconcile ramp card transactions to maintain accurate records
  • Compile monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and accounts receivable aging reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes
  • Collaborate on maintaining detailed and accurate general ledger accounts
  • Support the team in resolving discrepancies and improving financial workflows
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or related roles
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is required
  • Strong understanding of month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance
  • Proven ability to prepare and analyze journal entries and financial statements
  • Expertise in accounts reconciliation, including bank reconciliations
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Advanced skills in preparing balance sheets, P&L statements, and aging reports
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
