Job Description

JCCS Certified Public Accountants and Business Advisors is looking for motivated professionals to join their payroll and accounting team. Client Advisory Services provided by JCCS combines the best features of technology, accounting solutions and advisory services to deliver a fully integrated, cloud-based service package.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the client’s financial reporting and payroll needs
  • Accounting services
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Processing payroll
  • Preparing quarterly and annual payroll reports
  • Other accounting projects for a variety of clients
  • Performs detailed payroll functions for clients according to deadlines
  • Performs accounting functions including cash management, AR, AP, transactional processing, month-end closing, and financial reporting
  • Completes data entry for monthly and quarterly accounting and financial statements
  • Oversees preparation of complex payroll and accounting services
  • Completes and maintains complex general ledgers and financial reports
  • Complies with IRS, state and federal tax requirements, wage and hour, and researches clients’ questions
  • Prepares year-end reporting, ready for tax preparation
  • May assist clients with off-site or office location accounting functions
  • Onboards and train clients on financial accounting systems/software
  • Builds relationships with clients and interacts with integrity and honesty
  • Promotes JCCS and services to new and existing clients
  • Attends training and keeps up to date with industry, state and federal changes as well as technology updates
  • May assist with training and reviewing accounting, payroll and other accounting or internal activities of other staff, and takes responsibility for the quality control issues
  • Uses expertise to serve on JCCS committees and lead JCCS teams
  • Contributes significantly to marketing activities that bring in their own clients and participates in promoting new Firm services
  • Provides back up for other CAS staff, and may back-up front office, as required
  • May help provide transactional support for CAS team

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks Online, and AI-related tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Five (5) years of accounting experience
  • Five (5) years of payroll processing experience
  • Three (3) years of financial statement preparation, preferred
  • Proficiency in applying applicable accounting and payroll standards
  • Proficiency with technology, AI tools and research
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically
  • Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Embraces teamwork with and between service lines
  • Growth mindset (both internally and client-focused)
  • Ability to effectively delegate and mentor team members
  • Must successfully pass a background check
