A well-established accountancy practice in Exeter is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a background in agricultural and rural clients to support a growing agri-focused portfolio. This role is ideal for a practice-trained accountant who enjoys working closely with farmers, landed estates and rural businesses, providing practical accounting and tax support tailored to the agricultural sector. You’ll take responsibility for client relationships, oversee accounts and tax work, and contribute to advisory-led projects within a specialist agri team.
Job Responsibility:
Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for agricultural businesses and partnerships
Producing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns
Acting as a key point of contact for agri and rural clients
Advising on sector-specific issues, including farm accounting and rural reliefs
Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
Supporting Managers with workflow and deadlines
Identifying opportunities to add value and support advisory work
Requirements:
ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
Experience working within a UK accountancy practice
Exposure to agricultural or rural clients
Confident preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns
Enjoy building long-term client relationships
Organised, reliable and comfortable managing deadlines
Keen to develop further within agricultural accounting
