Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting our client a well-established medium size firm based in Birmingham. Due to the growth of the firm an exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Accountant/Accounts Manager to join the team. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right individual to join this firm of choice.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a portfolio of SME clients including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Act as the main point of contact for client relationships
  • Assist with the preparation and provide ongoing advice on accounting, tax and commercial matters
  • Identify opportunities for additional services (tax planning, advisory, R&D, etc.)
  • Review and approve, Corporation tax computations, Self-assessment tax returns, Partnership and trust returns & VAT returns
  • Liaise with HMRC on queries, investigations and disclosures
  • Conduct file reviews and provide technical feedback
  • Managing staff, running a team, timetabling / setting budgets, overseeing junior level staff work, mentoring / training, boosting morale & motivating
  • Support partners with workflow planning and resourcing

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA or QBE with experience within a practice environment
  • Previous experience managing a client portfolio
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organised with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge of various accounting software
