Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager

Job Responsibility

  • Own and execute month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including: Deferred revenue calculations, General ledger reconciliations and account analysis
  • Ensure completion of month-end checklists and supporting workpapers
  • Perform month-end expense reviews and variance analysis
  • Assist in preparation of lot-level income statements and financial reporting
  • Analyze and report on repo surplus and deficiencies
  • Support acquisition activity, including involvement in ~20-day acquisition cycles
  • Contribute to process improvements and provide operational/accounting insights
  • Assist with personal property tax filings and estimated tax payment preparation
  • Administer: Bank of America online P-card program, Visa prepaid program
  • Serve as a backup to the General Ledger Manager
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and support field operations (lots) as needed
  • Participate in special projects led by Accounting Leadership (Controller, GL Manager, Principal Accounting Officer)
  • Help mentor and develop junior accounting staff

Requirements

  • Senior-level accounting skillset with strong technical foundation
  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
  • Proven hands-on approach — willing to roll up sleeves and execute
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who can operate independently and take ownership
  • Excellent communication and business partnering abilities
  • Experience with capital markets, acquisitions, or rotational accounting is a plus
  • Comfortable operating in an evolving environment with increasing scope and responsibility
