Job Description:

The Senior Accountant manages complex general ledger accounting processes, ensures accuracy of financial reporting, and supports audit and compliance activities for manufacturing operations. This role is critical for maintaining strong internal controls, performing cost accounting functions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate accurate and timely month-end and year-end closes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee day-to-day general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial results are accurate and compliant with GAAP or IFRS standards
  • Review and analyze manufacturing cost variances, inventory accounting, and standard cost updates
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for fixed assets, inventory, and manufacturing overhead allocations
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to support business objectives and verify transactions specific to the manufacturing environment
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of all accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Coordinate and support external financial audits and regulatory compliance activities
  • Continuously assess processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, automation, and accuracy
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports as needed by management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong background in general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting and inventory management principles within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
