Our client is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Account Executive to manage and grow their fashion forward specialty store accounts. This role will serve as a key liaison between clients, internal teams, and overseas partners, ensuring seamless execution from product development through delivery. The ideal candidate has experience working with better fashion brands and private label businesses, strong product development expertise, and the ability to take ownership of account management responsibilities while driving clear, effective communication across all partners. This is a hybrid role based in New York, with an expectation to be in the office 2-3 days per week depending on client meetings, seasonal needs, and business priorities. Candidates must be within commuting distance of the NY office. The salary range for this role is $125,000 – $140,000 based on experience.
Job Responsibility
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned accounts, managing communication across design, production, development, and merchandising teams while ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
Partner closely with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure product development and execution align with client expectations and business objectives
Prepare and present sales materials, proposals, and presentations tailored to client needs and seasonal direction
Monitor weekly sales and benchmark reports, analyze business performance, and provide actionable insights to support growth opportunities
Conduct competitive market research both in-store and online, presenting trend, product, and performance findings to leadership teams
Oversee product approvals including fit, construction, trims, and color while ensuring timely follow-up with customers and internal teams
Coordinate with overseas teams regarding costing, production timelines, and delivery schedules to support on-time execution and shipment
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to orders, production, and deliveries in partnership with suppliers, factories, and merchants
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including sales order books, sample logs, development tracking, and production status reports
Lead preparation for key meetings and market appointments, including showroom setup, sample organization, and presentation materials
Collaborate with finance, logistics, and operations teams to align on forecasts, purchase orders, margin goals, and delivery expectations
Partner with the design team by providing trend direction, market insight, and product ideas that support compelling assortments for clients
Effectively manage communication across multiple time zones with overseas partners and internal teams in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
5-7 years of experience in account management, private label sales, merchandising, or product development within the fashion industry
Experience working with better fashion brands and/or contemporary private label businesses preferred
Must be able to travel domestically for client meetings and internationally to Hong Kong approximately 3-4 times per year for key meetings and development reviews
Strong organizational and communication skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experience is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
Experience with knitwear and fully fashioned sweaters preferred but not required
Elevated taste level with a strong eye for product, trend, and market positioning
Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion, or related field preferred
