Job Description

The Marine Account Manager interacts directly with clients and underwriters to manage and process insurance policies while providing exceptional service and support. This role is responsible for setting up new accounts, reviewing documentation for accuracy, invoicing clients, and maintaining detailed records to reduce E&O exposure. The Account Manager also handles client inquiries, explains coverages, prepares renewal quotes, and assists with documentation. A key part of the role includes negotiating with underwriters for favorable terms and identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional coverages.

Job Responsibility

  • Set up new clients in agency management system, review all the documents including application and binder to ensure accuracy
  • Invoice clients and set up appropriate activities
  • Deal directly with clients either by telephone, email or face to face
  • Keep detailed notes of inquiries and changes to avoid possible E&O
  • Keep positive helpful attitude with clients when explaining coverages
  • Be able to sell additional coverages and to cross sell other lines of insurance
  • Prepare renewal quotation and assist clients how to complete paperwork
  • Negotiate with Underwriters when necessary for more favorable rates

Requirements

  • 4-40 or 2-20 State of Florida Insurance License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of tasks efficiently with a positive, client-focused attitude
  • Ability to analyze and interpret insurance policies and comfortably explain coverages to clients
  • Confident in soliciting new business and interacting with underwriters
  • Skilled in calculating premiums, endorsements, cancellations, and associated taxes and fees
  • Able to explain audits, premium changes, and underwriting requests in a calm, informative manner
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute
  • Strong written communication skills, including professional email and letter writing
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively
