Job Description:

In this position as an Senior A&H Underwriter, you will be reporting into the HOD and work alongside with a strong team of Underwriters. You will be expected to execute strategy ensuring key performance indicators objectives are met & underwriting profitability is maintained. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective program to manage the portfolio of business underwritten to produce an underwriting profit and ensure all business is underwritten within guidelines. The ideal incumbent will proactively review and sourcing for new business, prepare for account renewal review within the required lead time agreed with the brokers and follow up on quotes and renewals. You will be working closely with internal stakeholders to identify and produce new products and/or packages to meet current or potential market needs and communicate to brokers on policy wordings and administrative/claims procedures and quality standards. In order to be successful, the ideal incumbent must have a positive and willing to learn attitude. Someone that works well with a sizable team and is able to work independently as an individual.

Job Responsibility:

Execute strategy ensuring key performance indicators objectives are met & underwriting profitability is maintained
Develop and implement an effective program to manage the portfolio of business underwritten to produce an underwriting profit
Ensure all business is underwritten within guidelines
Proactively review and sourcing for new business
Prepare for account renewal review within the required lead time agreed with the brokers
Follow up on quotes and renewals
Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and produce new products and/or packages to meet current or potential market needs
Communicate to brokers on policy wordings and administrative/claims procedures and quality standards

Requirements:

5+ years of underwriting experience with focus on A&H products (Both life or GI are welcome)
Professional qualification such as ACII
Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate underwriting risks
Strong relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
Positive and willing to learn attitude
Works well with a sizable team
Able to work independently as an individual
Applicants must be fully vaccinated or have a valid exemption in accordance with MOM’s regulations to allow them to enter the workplace
