Senior 3 Waters Engineer. Ready to step into a role where you can genuinely influence projects, people, and direction? We’re working with a growing water team looking for a Senior 3 Waters Engineer to take on a true 2IC position. A mix of hands-on delivery, leadership, and input into how the team moves forward. You’ll be joining a well-regarded, relationship-driven consultancy with a strong track record across NZ infrastructure, known for being practical, collaborative, and easy to work with. The role: You’ll be across the full lifecycle of projects, from early-stage thinking through to delivery, while also playing a key part in how the team operates and grows.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading delivery of water infrastructure projects from concept through to construction
  • Acting as Project Leader - managing scope, programme, budget, and quality
  • Working closely with clients and building long-term relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring developing engineers
  • Contributing to technical direction and wider water sector initiatives

Requirements

  • Around 10+ years’ experience in water engineering (flexible for the right person)
  • Strong design experience across the three waters space
  • Comfortable leading projects and managing client relationships
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
  • Solid commercial awareness and delivery focus
  • Relevant engineering qualification (CPEng ideal)
  • Full working rights in New Zealand

  • Conduct electrical calculations and design analyses for preliminary and detailed design phases
  • Develop and review electrical cost estimates to ensure financial feasibility and adherence to budget
  • Prepare and oversee comprehensive electrical reports, plans, and specifications, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and instrumentation diagrams
