SENDIASS Gloucestershire (Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Service) is recruiting. An exciting opportunity is available to join this growing team of friendly and well-respected professionals who are committed to ensuring parent carers and young people with SEND have their voices heard and receive accurate and helpful information and advice. SENDIASS Gloucestershire is a specialist service offering free, impartial, confidential information, advice and support on matters around SEND. The Service is offered to parent carers of children with SEND (0-25 years) and young people aged between 16 and 25 years old to help them play an active and informed role in supporting their child or the young person’s education. The Service covers Gloucestershire and works in partnership with parent carers and young people, Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum, Gloucestershire County Council, ICB, educational settings and other key agencies working with children and young people up to the age of 25.
Job Responsibility:
Day to day management of a team
Working with education, health and care professionals and parent carers to provide impartial information, advice and support in relation to their child with SEND
Managing team workflow: Overseeing case allocation, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of advice and support
Supporting complex cases: Providing guidance and expertise to team members on challenging or high-risk cases, ensuring consistency and compliance with statutory requirements
Supervision of Case Advisors: Delivering regular supervision sessions to support professional development, maintain standards, and address any issues or concerns
Operational leadership: Acting as the first point of contact for operational queries, ensuring smooth running of the service, and implementing agreed policies and procedures
Quality assurance and improvement: Monitoring service performance, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to strategic development
Requirements:
Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
Required to complete the IPSEA Level 1 Legal Training as part of the role
Work towards IPSEA Level 3, ideally within 12 months of starting the role
