Job Description:

SENDCo role at a specialist secondary school for neurodivergent students in Horsham, West Sussex; shaping educational programs; leading interventions and assessments; part of senior leadership team

Job Responsibility:

leading on educational interventions
conducting specialist assessments
ensuring EHCP plans are appropriate and resourced
evaluating and reporting on EHCPs
collaborating with therapy team
training and supporting staff
engaging students and families

Requirements:

experience with autism spectrum disorders
ability to track progression in attainment
behaviour management
building relationships
classroom management
communication
de-escalation techniques
empathy
experience in managing challenging behaviour
planning
inclusiveness
marking
resilience
mentor experience
experience with learning difficulties

Nice to have:

speech and language therapy experience
QTS qualification
background in youth work
experience with social emotional mental health
manual handling
restraint training
