SENDCo role in a growing specialist provision supporting students aged 11–16 with SEMH needs, autism, and a range of additional learning needs. The role involves joining the leadership team to help shape an exceptional, inclusive offer for every learner.
Job Responsibility:
Driving a high‑quality, fully inclusive SEND offer across the school
Coordinating EHCP processes, Annual Reviews, and personalised support plans
Supporting staff to deliver effective strategies for students with SEMH, autism, ADHD, communication needs and associated challenges
Working hand‑in‑hand with families and external agencies (EPs, SALT, CAMHS, social care and more)
Providing training and coaching to build staff confidence in SEND and trauma‑informed practice
Ensuring every student is understood, supported and able to make meaningful progress academically, socially and emotionally
Requirements:
Qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
Strong experience supporting students with SEND (ideally SEMH or specialist provision experience)
Confident leading Annual Reviews and EHCP processes
Skilled at coaching staff, influencing change, and creating a positive, aspirational SEND culture
A calm, reflective, resilient professional with superb communication skills
Nice to have:
National SENCo Award is desirable (or willingness to complete)
