This is an exceptional chance to join us at the very beginning of our journey. You'll work closely with the Head of School, playing a pivotal role in leadership and management, and taking responsibility for developing learning, teaching, curriculum, careers, assessment, and enrichment across the school. Our model emphasises small classes, high levels of classroom support, and a dedicated multi-disciplinary intervention team, all focused on giving every student the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading the strategic development and implementation of SEND policy and provision, providing expert advice to the Head of School
  • Ensuring the school meets all statutory responsibilities in line with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and defined SEND assessments
  • Coordinating and deploying school provision, including staff (therapists), resources, and intervention strategies for integrated SEN support
  • Overseeing high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG), developing a comprehensive framework to support pupils' pathways to adulthood
  • Leading Year 9 transition reviews, capturing student voice and aligning outcomes with Pathways for Adulthood
  • Implementing successful Post-16 transition plans, liaising with colleges for school link courses, visits, and specific pupil needs
  • Identifying and enabling access arrangements for examinations and other accreditation's (including Deputy Exam Officer duties)
  • Promoting best practice through in-service training (INSET) and continuing professional development (CPD) for new teachers, contributing to the school's overall ethos
  • Collaborating with the Head of School to ensure a high-quality, engaging, differentiated, and well-resourced curriculum
  • Communicating effectively with parents/carers, staff, external agencies, and local authorities regarding pupil progress and intervention effectiveness
  • Preparing information and conducting annual statutory reviews and specific case conferences
  • Developing positive relationships within the school, with other Surrey schools, and the wider team to support ongoing school development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is essential
  • A proven track record of excellent creative and structured teaching within relevant key stages and/or a special needs environment
  • Experience in holding responsibility for and successfully implementing policy into effective and successful practice
  • Leadership of a significant area, phase, or inclusion, with responsibility for raising standards across the whole school
  • Effective team management and a history of working collaboratively and effectively with others
  • Communicating effectively to a wide range of different audiences through various mediums
  • Successful management of complex scenarios and conflict resolution
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a range of external agencies
