Job Responsibility:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, adapting to individual learning needs and abilities
Assist in implementing tailored learning strategies in line with each student’s education plan
Work closely with the class teacher to create and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that cater to all students, including those with SEND
Support students in their social, emotional, and personal development, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Assist with personal care tasks where necessary, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support
Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to the teacher to ensure appropriate learning adjustments are made
Help create a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where students can feel confident and motivated to learn
Work alongside other staff and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting students with SEND is preferred, particularly those with learning, behavioural, or physical disabilities
Patience, empathy, and flexibility in adapting to the individual needs of students
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents
A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting students’ academic and emotional development
Ability to implement and support differentiated teaching methods and behavioural strategies
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
Must meet the minimum experience, training or qualifications stated
