Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor. Are you passionate about supporting children and making a real difference every day? Do you have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and an interest in behaviour support? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and supportive school community in North Somerset.

Job Responsibility

  • Support children with additional needs including autism, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning and intervention plans
  • Act as a positive behaviour mentor, helping pupils regulate emotions and build confidence
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEN needs (essential)
  • Calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
  • Strong interest in behaviour support and mentoring
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Proactive, adaptable, and team-focused
