Job Description:

We are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive multi‑academy trust to recruit dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a number of schools within the trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a meaningful difference to their learning and development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and physical needs
  • Work on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and emotional wellbeing
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to adapt to the needs of different pupils and school environments
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
