We are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive multi‑academy trust to recruit dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a number of schools within the trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a meaningful difference to their learning and development.
Job Responsibility:
Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and physical needs
Work on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and emotional wellbeing
Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
Maintain a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to adapt to the needs of different pupils and school environments
A genuine passion for inclusive education
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
