Job Description

We are looking for a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly mainstream primary school in Doncaster from September on a full‑time temporary basis. This long‑term role involves supporting pupils with additional needs within a nurturing school that prides itself on its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support and a warm, community‑focused environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND across the primary curriculum
  • Assist with individual learning plans and targeted interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and activities
  • Maintain clear communication with staff, parents and external professionals

Requirements

  • Relevant TA or SEND-related qualifications
  • Proven experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of primary SEND needs and effective support strategies
  • Two education or school-based references
  • A current enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • A patient, compassionate approach and commitment to inclusive practice
