Job Description:

Justteachers is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Wigan to provide tailored support for learners with additional needs, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey. This full-time, long-term position is available to start as soon as possible.

Job Responsibility:

  • Be able to deliver differentiated yet creative lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND
  • Create a calm, safe, and supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued and heard
  • Continuously monitor and report on individual pupil progress, adjusting strategies as needed to support both learning and emotional development
  • Promote a trauma-informed and restorative approach to behaviour management

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with SEMH learners or in an alternative provision setting
  • Two education-based references
