Job Responsibility:
Individualised Support: Working 1-to-1 with students to help them engage with a sensory-based curriculum
Personal Care: Assisting with all aspects of personal care, including feeding, changing, and manual handling (hoisting) where required
Communication Support: Acting as a 'communication partner' to help non-verbal students express their needs and choices
Requirements:
Communication Flair: An interest or proficiency in BSL (British Sign Language), Makaton, or PECS is highly advantageous
Sensory Awareness: The ability to support students with sensory processing needs and adapt environments accordingly
Resilience: A calm, patient approach when supporting students with ASD who may exhibit challenging behaviours
Nurturing Nature: A genuine commitment to providing high-quality care for students with PMLD
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for a new one)
Valid and proven right to work in the UK
Previous experience supporting children or adults with complex needs (PMLD, ASD, or sensory impairments)
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience in Nursing/Care
