Job Description:

This is a full-time position for a SEND Teaching Assistant. You will be an integral part of the classroom, providing consistent support to students who require a high level of care and guidance throughout the school day. This is a role for someone who is patient, resilient, and genuinely motivated by student progress.

Job Responsibility:

Providing 1-to-1 and small group support to ensure students engage with their individualised learning plans
Assisting with personal care, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility support
Helping students develop life skills, such as social interaction and basic independent living tasks
Implementing positive behaviour support strategies to ensure a safe and productive classroom environment

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
Valid and proven right to work in the UK
Previous experience working with children or adults with complex SEND (specifically SLD or Autism)
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or Health & Social Care) are highly desirable
Resilience
Specialised Communication (Experience or strong interest in learning Makaton, PECS, or other augmentative communication methods)
Patience
