We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across schools in Chichester and the surrounding areas. Job Responsibility
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
Assist students with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual learning plans
Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND (preferred but not essential)
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND support would be advantageous
Eligible to work in the UK or hold a relevant work visa
Provide an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
Nice to have
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND
