Secondary school can be a daunting place for any teenager, but for a student with SEND, it can feel like an impossible puzzle. We are seeking a resilient, relatable, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with needs ranging from Autism (ASD) and ADHD to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Your goal isn't just to help them finish a worksheet; it's to give them the tools to navigate the classroom, build friendships, and gain the independence they need for life after school.
Job Responsibility:
1:1 Mentoring: Support a specific student through their timetable, helping them break down complex instructions into manageable tasks
Social Coaching: Help students navigate the social 'minefield' of secondary school, from lunchtimes to group projects
