Job Description:

Justteachers is looking for a Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Whitefield, providing dedicated support for 2 pupils with additional needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children’s learning and wellbeing. This full‑time, long‑term position is available to start in April.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide tailored support to meet the needs of 2 students with a range of SEND requirements, including cognition and learning needs, social, emotional and mental health challenges
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and staff to create a calm, structured and positive learning environment
  • Build supportive, trusting relationships with pupils, taking time to understand their individual needs, interests and motivators
  • Support the wider school ethos and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive and encouraging atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Experience within the last two years supporting adults or children with SEND or complex needs, ideally in a school, residential care setting, PRU or SEMH environment
  • A strong commitment to the development and progress of pupils with additional needs, with the desire to make a lasting impact
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, essential for working confidently alongside teachers and support staff
  • Able to provide two references from the past two years in a educational or caring setting
