Job Description

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northamptonshire. This role involves providing tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with additional needs, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent, starting as soon as possible.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the needs of a pupil with additional learning needs
  • Support students with a range of needs, including cognition and learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), sensory and physical challenges, ASC, ADHD, and other complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to create a positive and effective learning environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, understanding their individual needs and motivations
  • Promote and support the school's inclusive ethos and positive learning culture

Requirements

  • Recent experience (within the last two years) working with children or adults with SEN or complex needs (e.g. care homes, residential settings, SEMH schools, or PRUs)
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH and additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build rapport with pupils and demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding
  • Legal right to work in the UK
