Job Description:

A specialist primary provision in Basingstoke is looking for a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to work with pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and communication needs. This school provides a structured and nurturing environment where pupils benefit from predictable routines, visual learning strategies and strong pastoral support. You will be working closely with the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, social development and emotional regulation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting pupils with Autism on a 1:1 basis
  • Helping pupils access classroom activities
  • Implementing visual timetables and structured routines
  • Supporting communication and interaction skills
  • Encouraging independence and positive behaviour

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting Autism or SEND
  • DBS on the Update Service
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training
