Job Description

Affinity Partnerships are actively looking for SEN Teachers to start in September 2026 at our schools in the Walthamstow/Ilford area. The schools that we’re working with have a range of complex learning, medical and behavioural needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide a well-planned, sequenced curriculum that is matched to both cognitive ability and individual strength
  • Assume responsibility for classroom management as well as the environment, pupils and staff
  • Develop a provision of the highest possible quality of education and maintain a supportive atmosphere
  • Assist in the development of the Curriculum
  • Monitor, assess, report, record and evaluate learning experiences
  • Provide learners with an effective means of communication such as Symbolic, Makaton, Verbal, Gestural, AAC
  • Provide a breadth of experiences that enables learners to generalise, maintain and contextualise skills/experiences
  • Promote opportunities for peer and social interaction to develop confidence, resilience and social skills
  • Planning, marking and attending staff meetings
