SEND Teacher – Temp to perm, full-time from September 2026. This SEND Teacher role offers the opportunity to work in a specialist secondary setting supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school provides a structured and nurturing environment where teaching is carefully adapted to support engagement, confidence, and progress. This role would suit a Maths Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and confident in delivering Maths in a way that is accessible, consistent, and supportive.
Job Responsibility
Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons adapted to meet a range of additional learning needs
Teach core Maths skills in a structured and accessible way
Differentiate lessons to support pupils with SEND Needs
Create a calm, predictable, and supportive classroom environment
Use positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies consistently
Assess and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to support individual outcomes
Work closely with support staff and wider teams to deliver inclusive practice
Support pupils’ confidence, resilience, and engagement with Maths
Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Maths at the secondary level
Background in SEND, PRU, alternative provision, or inclusive mainstream settings
Ability to adapt Maths teaching for pupils with additional needs
Calm, resilient, and flexible teaching approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
