Job Description

Rodenhurst School delivers individualised SEN education within a therapeutic setting, specialising in SEMH needs. We support up to 15 pupils, all with EHC plans. Pupils are taught in classes of no more than 6 with at least 1 full time LSA to support. The current vacancy would require the teacher to deliver learning to mainly KS3 students using a primary model.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver learning to mainly KS3 students using a primary model
  • Teach a primary-model curriculum
  • Engage disengaged learners
  • Deliver learning to pupils with a diverse range of needs (ASC, trauma, social and emotional difficulties)
  • Measure success by pupils’ progress in academic, social and emotional areas

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (required)
  • Ability to teach a range of subjects (required)
  • At least 1 year experience as a teacher (required)
  • Experience of teaching children with SEN (desirable)
  • An excellent, innovative classroom teacher
  • A teacher who understands the importance of a therapeutic approach to education
