This is a leadership opportunity within a specialised Inclusion Resource in the WF6 area. The school is seeking a creative practitioner to lead a class-based setting for pupils with Autism, complex learning difficulties, and diverse SEND needs. You will be the architect of a bespoke learning environment, supported by an expert team of Teaching Assistants.
Job Responsibility:
Designing and delivering a bespoke, adaptive curriculum that translates complex EHCP targets into engaging classroom activities
Implementing specialist teaching strategies to remove learning obstacles and promote academic, social, and emotional growth
Managing a dedicated class team of support staff
Acting as a consultant between families, external professionals, and mainstream settings to ensure seamless transitions
Systematically monitoring and assessing pupil milestones
Playing a key role in the school's wider vision for inclusion
Requirements:
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification
Substantial experience teaching pupils with SEND (specifically Autism and complex needs)
Deep knowledge of bespoke curriculum design and adaptive teaching strategies
Ability to build high-trust relationships with families and collaborate effectively with mainstream colleagues
Resilience and drive in a specialist, pupil-centred environment
