Job Description

Are you a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled SEND Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with additional learning needs? GSL Education are seeking a committed SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school community in Poole from January 2026 on a permanent basis. As an SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering personalised and inclusive education to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Working closely with SENCOs, support staff, and external professionals, you will ensure every learner receives tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about inclusive practice and long-term pupil development.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan, deliver, and assess inclusive lessons tailored to pupils with SEND
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
  • Track pupil progress and maintain accurate academic and pastoral records
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external agencies
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Strong knowledge of SEND codes of practice and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Patient, flexible, and empathetic approach to teaching
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
