Job Responsibility
Plan and deliver differentiated, accessible lessons that meet the needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
Adapt teaching approaches to ensure all learners can access the curriculum and make meaningful progress
Use a variety of structured strategies including visual aids, clear instructions, modelling, and hands-on learning to support engagement
Assess progress and use this to inform planning, ensuring learning is personalised and purposeful
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through calm, consistent, and supportive teaching approaches
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families to provide a holistic approach to each learner’s development
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching or supporting children and young people with SEND across a range of ages
Strong understanding of different SEND needs and the ability to adapt teaching to support individual learning styles
Confidence in using varied teaching strategies to engage pupils and support their academic and personal development
A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for inclusive education
