Job Description

Justteachers are seeking a committed and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils at a modern, specialist SEND College in Wigan. The school provides tailored education for children aged 4–16 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. The successful candidate will build positive relationships and communicate clearly and consistently with parents and carers, ensuring they are well informed about pupils’ progress, development, and overall wellbeing.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver tailored support to students with additional needs within a dedicated provision setting
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and effective behaviour strategies
  • Drive a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted interventions
  • Offer consistent support for students’ social, emotional, and sensory needs throughout the school day

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in SEND settings or within focused intervention roles
  • Strong understanding of SEND approaches and a dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments
  • Able to maintain a calm, steady, and positive manner when supporting learning and managing behaviour
