We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs within a welcoming and inclusive school in Lutterworth on a long term full time supply basis starting September 2026. This is a highly rewarding role where you will provide tailored, one-to-one support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
Job Responsibility
Deliver 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
Support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
Implement tailored strategies and support plans
Assist with behaviour management and engagement
Create a nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment
Adapt resources to suit individual learning needs
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or adults with SEND or complex needs within the last two years
Experience in settings such as schools, care homes, residential care, SEMH provisions, or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) is highly desirable
Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEND)
A calm, patient and empathetic approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport
A proactive and adaptable mindset
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
